Welcome to the National Speech and Debate Society of Vietnam

Our goal is to coordinate language arts in all schools in Vietnam.

The advantages to participating in NSDS training and tournaments are numerous, and for the second language learner — they make a world of difference.  Active students in the Society do not need to study English or have additional training — public speaking and debate are excellent methods of intellectual and emotional development for teenagers and young adults.

If anyone is interested in forming a team or entering a competition, please contact us here.

For now, students are encouraged to study the curriculum provided by the World Scholars Cup.  In order to limit the field of research and linguistic focus, the World Scholars Cup curriculum will serve as a backdrop to annual speech and debate activities.  Additional topics for debate and extemporaneous speaking will be added as the tournament season progresses.  Most of the material will come from you — whether it be a poem, some prose, or a speech written from your own research.  You can find the World Scholars Cup curriculum here.

Since this is our inaugural year, we will begin with only a few events and expand.  The events that will be included in the first tournaments will be: impromptu speaking; prose reading; poetry reading;  extemporaneous speaking; original oration; Lincoln-Douglas debate; and, cross-examination (team) debate.  Students without a coach or program are welcome to assistance through this web site and through the Social Dynamic.  Please send all inquiries here.
